HITAG 2 IC specifications
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Semiconductor IC | HITAG 2 |
| Interface / protocol | HITAG 2 protocol |
| Total memory | 256 bits |
| Interface | Low frequency passive transponder |
| Variant selection | Match the precise memory and protocol configuration to the reader |
| User data | 128 bits |
| Control / secret memory | 128 bits |
| Organization | 8 pages of 4 bytes |
| Read coding | Biphase and Manchester |
| Memory protection | Selective read/write protection |
Memory and protocol values describe the IC. Actual read performance depends on the finished antenna, enclosure, reader and operating environment.
Match the complete part number, reader command set and data format before qualification. Frequency alone does not establish interoperability.
Integration and qualification
Validate the modulation, bit rate and identifier format with the installed low frequency reader. NFC phones do not read 125 kHz credentials. For programmed formats, agree a sample identifier and confirm how the host system interprets it.
Provide the installation cavity, mounting method and surrounding materials. Validate the disc after final enclosure assembly. Chip availability depends on the selected diameter and antenna.
Approve an encoded sample in the finished application before volume production. Define acceptance criteria for identification, memory access, printed data and repeated operation.
Define your production requirement.
