Memory and protocol values describe the IC. Actual read performance depends on the finished antenna, enclosure, reader and operating environment.

Allow space for NDEF overhead when calculating the encoded message size. User memory is not the same as maximum URL length.

Password protection and an originality signature are different capabilities. NTAG21x does not provide the AES authenticated secure messaging of DESFire.

For a phone tap experience, encode and verify an NDEF message and test representative iOS and Android devices on the finished product.

Integration and qualification

Use an NDEF message for a standard phone tap experience. Calculate the complete encoded byte count, choose a URL under your control and verify the readback before locking the tag. Test the finished product against representative phone antennas and operating systems.

Specify wrist size, fit, wearing duration and cleaning conditions. Test the credential while worn, including wet use when relevant to the approved construction.

Approve an encoded sample in the finished application before volume production. Define acceptance criteria for identification, memory access, printed data and repeated operation.
