| Interface / protocol | EM4100 / EM4102 compatible protocol options |
| IC frequency range | 100–150 kHz; finished product tuning must be specified |
| Code storage | Laser programmed ROM |
| ROM options | 64, 96 or 128 bits |
| Encoding options | Manchester, Biphase, PSK or FSK; variant dependent |
| Power | Passive operation from reader field |
Memory and protocol values describe the IC. Actual read performance depends on the finished antenna, enclosure, reader and operating environment.
Match the complete part number, reader command set and data format before qualification. Frequency alone does not establish interoperability.
Integration and qualification
Validate the modulation, bit rate and identifier format with the installed low frequency reader. NFC phones do not read 125 kHz credentials. For programmed formats, agree a sample identifier and confirm how the host system interprets it.
Define finished label size, antenna footprint, application surface and adhesive. For rolls, include winding direction, pitch, liner width, core diameter and printer model. An IC option may require a minimum antenna size.
Approve an encoded sample in the finished application before volume production. Define acceptance criteria for identification, memory access, printed data and repeated operation.
Define your production requirement.
